Job Overview

Skylock is seeking a highly motivated DeFi Security Engineering Intern to join our team of technical developers. In this role, you will contribute to the detection and prevention of malicious smart contract transactions using a combination of machine learning models, handcrafted features, and reverse-engineering techniques. Your knowledge of the Ethereum blockchain ecosystem and passion for security will help us protect decentralized finance protocols from emerging threats.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research and development of software solutions to detect and mitigate malicious smart contract transactions.
  • Support the analysis of blockchain data and mempool transactions to identify suspicious activities and trends.
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to develop strategies for responding to detected threats.
  • Contribute to the development of tools and frameworks for safeguarding protocol funds.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with Ethereum smart contracts and the blockchain ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Basic knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information in simple terms.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with machine learning anomaly detection or pattern recognition tasks.
  • Previous involvement in bug bounties or code auditing, ideally in web3 environments.

Skylock is seeking a skilled Mempool Security Engineer to join our team of technical developers. In this role, you will focus on responding to malicious smart contract transactions in the mempool by reverse-engineering them and developing white-hat hacks. Your expertise in the manipulation and analysis of mempool data will be invaluable as you architect frameworks to safeguard protocol funds.


Responsibilities

  • Research and develop software solutions to reverse-engineer malicious smart contract transactions.
  • Prepare detailed design documents and testing strategies according to requirements.
  • Develop tools for synthesizing new call data and building transactions for white-hat hacking protocols.


Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python and Rust.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethereum smart contracts and the blockchain ecosystem.
  • At least two years of experience in a software engineering or architect position.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices and concerns.
  • Availability during EST (GMT-5) evening hours.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical information in simple terms.


Nice-to-have

  • Experience searching for vulnerabilities through bug bounties or code auditing.
